Jabalpur: Two rail accidents were averted in
Jabalpur rail division, where an engine of a goods train in Katni was derailed and another tanker filed with petrol overturned near Bhedaghat. No casualty were reported and the incident did not result in disruption of rail traffic.
In the first incident, engine of a goods train was derailed at the track change point in Katni district on Tuesday evening.
The engine was then brought on track and the train was released at around 8 pm. A few hours after this incident at around 10.30 pm, three wagons of a goods train transporting petrol got derailed at Bhitauni near Bhedaghat. Due to the derailment of the three wagons, one petrol tanker also overturned.
Senior officials and fire-brigade teams had rushed to the spot in the night. On Wednesday morning the overturned tanker was brought back on track.
Official sources from the WCR informed that no human loss was reported in both the incidents and though the petrol tanker had overturned and was brought on track on Wednesday morning, transportation was not affected as it had happened at the siding situated in Bhitauni.
