Kamal Nath should take action against Digvijaya Singh, says Kailash Vijayavargiya
BHOPAL: BJP national general secretary
"
The BJP leader further said, "If cabinet minister Singhar is wrong and the allegations made do not prove, chief minister should take action against him. Now the ball is in Kamal Nath's court. It is now up to the CM and if Digvijaya Singh is involved in illegal sale of liquor then its a matter of concern that a former CM is involved in illegal trade".
State forest minister Singhar had on Tuesday said, “Digvijaya Singh blackmails the state government for getting his things done. He extorting money from transport and excise departments. He resorted to the rhetoric like terming Hindus as terrorists and spies of Pakistan which went against the party. He is a ‘blackmailer’ and involved in illegal liquor trade and sand mining.
Vijayavargiya said the allegations were not made by the opposition party but a cabinet minister and chief minister Kamal Nath must clarify and take action in the matter. Apart from Vijayavargiya, leader of opposition (LoP) Gopal Bhargava, Rajya Sabha member Prabhat Jha and former minister Narottam Mishra have also backed Congress minister Singhar.
"Umang Singhar is an honest tribal leader and nephew of former deputy CM Jamuna Devi who fought against Digvijaya Singh during her stint as the deputy chief minister. Allegations made by Singhar are serious and Congress must come clear on the activities of illegal mining and liquor mafias in the state", said LoP Bhargava.
BJP vice-president Prabhat Jha said when a minority government came to power, it got involved into corruption. Congress leaders were trying to destabilise chief minister Kamal Nath. It was Scinda who is running a separate campaign against the Congress government", said Jha.
