BHOPAL: A minor was detained for raping a minor girl in his neighbourhood in the state capital. Jehangirabad police said the incident was reported on Saturday and the accused was a student of class 7.
The incident took place while the two were playing at a ground. The accused was known to the survivor and her mother. Survivor's mother had asked the accused minor to take her out for play when the accused committed the crime.
The incident came to fore a day later when the minor complained of pain in her private parts. When she was counseled by her mother, she narrated the incident after which her mother and father took her to the police and lodged a complaint.
Childline counsels juvenile accused of raping minor The Childline also came in the picture and counselled the minor and also talked to the accused when he was picked up by the cops. The survivor's mother said she never expected that the accused boy with whom her daughter would often play could do such an act. Her daughter's condition was fine and she or her family members did not wish to talk about the incident to anyone, apart from the police. Police too refused to divulge and details of the incident except stating that a case was registered under sections of IPC and POCSO Act.
