Justice Kait sworn in CJ of MP high court
Bhopal: Governor Mangubhai Patel administered the oath to Justice Suresh Kumar Kait as the Chief Justice of the MP high court here on Wednesday. Justice Kait will be the 28th Chief Justice of the MP High Court. The swearing-in ceremony of the new Chief Justice was organised at the Sandipani Auditorium in Raj Bhavan. Chief minister Mohan Yadav and several dignitaries were present on the occasion.The governor and the chief minister greeted and wished the newly appointed Chief Justice by presenting a bouquet after the swearing-in ceremony. The oath-taking programme was conducted by chief secretary Veera Rana. She read out the notification issued by President Droupadi Murmu appointing Justice Suresh Kumar Kait of the Delhi High Court as Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.Justice Suresh Kumar Kait was born on May 24, 1963 at Village Kakaut, distt. Kaithal in Haryana. He graduated in Humanity from the University of Kurukshetra and post-graduated in political science from the same uNiversity. He obtained bachelor's degree in law from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi and was enrolled as an advocate in the year 1989. Justice Kait is first in his family who became the advocate. He had been the panel lawyer/senior counsel for UPSC and railways. He was appointed as standing counsel for central government in the year 2004 and continued till his elevation. He was elevated as an additional judge of Delhi high court on September, 5, 2008 and became a permanent judge on April, 12, 2013. He was transferred to the high court of judicature at Hyderabad for the State of Telangana and the state of Andhra Pradesh on April 12, 2016 and transferred back to Delhi high court on October 12, 2018.Justice Kait was appointed as chief justice of the Madhya Pradesh high court on September 25, 2024.
