Junior doctor raped by colleague at Gwalior medical college hostel

BHOPAL: A junior doctor was allegedly raped by a fellow male doctor in Gwalior on Sunday afternoon. The survivor, who had travelled from Datia to Gwalior to re-take her final year MBBS exams, was staying at the girls hostel.

She met Dr Sanjay Kumar Iwane, after the examination who was her classmate. The accused took the survivor to an abandoned portion of the old boys' hostel of the medical college and allegedly raped her. The survivor reported the incident to the Kampu police station later that evening.

The survivor told police that the accused doctor threatened her with violence during and after the assault. The police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
