Patwari urges to participate in Cong’s ‘Beti Bachao Abhiyan’
Bhopal: State Congress chief Jitu Patwari said that girls, women and minors are being targeted by criminals in Madhya Pradesh. The Congress is carrying out a "Beti Bachao Abhiyan" across the state to highlight the rising crimes against women and girls. The BJP MLAs and senior BJP leaders are also supporting our campaign, he claimed, and said that in addition to sexual crimes against women and girls, access to drugs for minors is set to ruin their lives. The law and order situation in the state has collapsed, and the BJP MLAs are themselves seeking to save themselves from the police. CM Mohan Yadav, on the other hand, has been a mute spectator to the deteriorating law and order situation.
Referring to BJP MLA from Mau district, Pradeep Patel, he said that in a viral video, he can be seen prostrating before the Additional SP to control the crimes and drug abuse in his area. He had also expressed apprehension to police earlier that he might be killed. Patwari said that the BJP accuses the opposition Congress of spreading canards against the state govt, but now more than a dozen BJP MLAs, former ministers, and senior BJP leaders themselves are raising questions over the law and order situation in the state.
Former Minister and MLA Ajay Visnoi has accused the state govt of having a nexus with the liquor mafia. The free availability of liquor in every nook and corner of the state shows how the liquor mafia is operating in the state with impunity, and minors are getting addicted to liquor. He further said that senior BJP leader Gopal Bhargava, too, has written a post on social media raising the question of whether we are entitled to burn the effigy of demon king Ravana.
He said that Bhargava has raised the point that 'Kanya Pujan' is performed during Navratri, and soon the effigy of Ravana will be burnt, but the newspapers are also full of reports on rape with minor girls. Supporting the said post of Bhargava, Patwari said "Beti Bachao Abhiyan" is not a political but a social campaign, and everyone, including the BJP leaders, should participate in the campaign in the larger interest of society and the state.
