Janpad panchayat prez booked for fraud in Chhindwara

Bhopal: A janpad panchayat president was booked for fraud of Rs 1.5 lakh in Chhindwara district. A case was registered against Asha Amravanshi, president of Parasia Janpad Panchayat and also the secretary of a self-help group in Tumri village."A case was registered against her on the complaint of embezzlement of around Rs 1.5 lakh from the funds of the SHG. Detailed investigations are being carried out," Ravanwada police station in charge, Kanchan Rajput, told TOI. Since the sections have punishment of less than 7 years and it was a bailable offence, she was granted bail, said sources.
