Jabalpur: The RSS's three-day All India Executive Board meeting began here on Thursday morning.
The organisation's top 407 functionaries are attending the meetings, which will decide the future course of the RSS after it completed 100 years on Sept 27. The meeting was inaugurated by organisation Sarsangchalak (chief)
Mohan Bhagwat and Sarkaryavah (general secretary) Duttatreye Hosabole, who paid floral tributes before the picture of Bharat Mata.
Apart from Bhagwat and Hosabole, all six Sah-Sarkaryavahs (Joint General Secretaries) of the RSS are participating in the national executive meeting, which will conclude at 6 pm on Nov 1.
Briefing the media after the inauguration, RSS national joint publicity chief Narendra Thakur said, "Members of the All India Executive Committee, the Sanghchalaks, Karyavahs, Pracharaks, and invited functionaries from all 11 regions and 46 provinces are attending the meeting being held at Jabalpur in the Mahakaushal region."
After 41 years, the RSS is holding its national executive meeting in this city, he added.
"The present scenario in the country will be reviewed and discussed. This is the centenary year of the RSS, and our Vijay Dashami functions just concluded. In the coming days, we will conduct a house-to-house public contact campaign, Hindu conventions, public symposiums, and social harmony summits. Planning for all these functions will be discussed in the next three days," Narendra Thakur said.
At the meeting, information was also shared about the service work done by volunteers with the support of the community during natural disasters in various parts of the country.
An RSS release said, "Statements will be issued at the meeting to commemorate the 350th martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, and the 150th anniversary of the composition of the national song Vande Mataram."
