International religions conference in MP, next month

Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, scholars and philosophers drawn from about 22 countries, including Britain, Netherlands, Vietnam, China, Israel, Indonesia and Japan will participate in a two-day International religions conference to be held here from September 22.

BHOPAL: Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, scholars and philosophers drawn from about 22 countries, including Britain, Netherlands, Vietnam, China, Israel, Indonesia and Japan will participate in a two-day International religions conference to be held here from September 22.
This mega event is being organised by Madhya Pradesh Culture Department, Centre for the Study of Religion and Society (CSRS), New Delhi and Mahabodhi Society, Sri Lanka and Dr Pranav Pandya of Gayatri Parivar has been invited to grace the event as the chief guest, state culture minister Laxmikant Sharma said on Saturday.

He said that that conference would focus on great Indian tradition, its multi-dimension aspects and coordinated religious traditions of India, adding that these factors had left a deep impact on Indian philosophy of life and views. Dialogue and coordination on various civilizations will be held at the international mega event, Sharma said.
The minister said that this international symposium is an important initiative for confabulations in several terms, which will also project spiritual wealth of Sanchi and several other places of Madhya Pradesh.
Over 120 scholars will present their research papers at this conference. Of these, 40 researches will be from outside the country.
