IAF Day Drill: Fighter Jets Roar & Soar In Bhopal Skies

Bhopal: India's top fighter planes and helicopters from the Indian Air Force (IAF) took to the skies over Upper Lake on Sunday, captivating the residents of Bhopal.This aerial display was part of the rehearsals for an air show on September 30 to celebrate the 91st anniversary of the IAF, which falls on October 8.This is the first time that Bhopal is witnessing an air show and skydiving of this magnitude. IAF officials expressed their eagerness to thrill the local residents with a spectacular array of aerobatic performances in the state capital.The IAF showcased an impressive lineup of aircraft, including the Sukhoi 30 MKi, LCA Tejas, Jaguar, Chinook, and ALH helicopters. In addition to this, Chetak, C-130 along with AN-32, Mirage 2000, Hawk, Sarang, and Suryakiran performed practice runs with team leaders only. As this is the first time that such an air show is being organized in the state capital, the excitement of the citizens was at its peak. “This is something that is rare to watch. Fortunately, my home is close to Upper Lake, I could see all the fighter planes with a heavy roar over my house,” said Ashok Wadhwani, a resident of Old City.In 2006, Surya Kiran held an air show in the state capital, but this time, the inclusion of Sukhoi and other fighter planes promises a more exhilarating experience.The breathtaking aerial maneuvers of these aircraft will be a visual delight. From September 26th to 28th, these aircraft will continue to practice and rehearse in the state capital. Some aircraft will fly in from their respective airbases and then return. Officials stated that if weather conditions are unfavorable on September 30, the event will be postponed by a day. “If weather conditions do not permit flying, the show will be rescheduled for October 1st,” an official told TOI.Adding to the allure of the air show will be skydiving. IAF personnel will perform parachute jumps from an aircraft, creating a mesmerizing sight against the clear skies.The previous edition of the Air Force Day Parade took place in Chandigarh, with a flypast over Sukhna Lake.

IAFs maiden air show in Jammu on September 21-22

The Indian Air Force is organizing a two-day air show in Jammu on September 21 and 22 to celebrate the accession of Jammu and Kashmir into the Indian Union and the diamond jubilee of the Air Force Station Jammu. The event will feature various displays including the IAF Air Warrior Drill Team, the Akashganga Daredevil Skydiving team, and the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team. The aim of the show is to showcase the operational capability of the IAF, motivate youth to join the service, and raise awareness about aviation safety.

Takeoff preps on for stunning Air Force display in Bhopal

IAF calls off show as rain plays spoilsport

The Indian Air Force had to cancel an airshow in Jaipur due to bad weather, disappointing thousands of spectators. The Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team had been performing for two days, but the show on the final day had to be called off. The cancellation was not communicated to the attendees, causing further frustration. The event attracted a crowd of nearly 30,000 people and the rainy weather caused traffic congestion in the area.
