Bhopal:Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission (MPHRC) took cognizance of the incident wherein 200 girls had to walk for five kilometers to reach school in Barwani.
The commission stated there are four girls' hostels in a village in Barwani, but the school is in a different village and 200 girl students had to walk to reach the school.
The matter was of Pati development block of the district.

From hostel superintendent to the village sarpanch, everyone approached the government authorities and public representatives with the problem.
But the issue remained unaddressed, the commission said, adding that the hostel superintendent informed that the route is not fit to travel during monsoon. But no one was paying heed to problem.
The commission said a report has been sought in the matter from collector Barwani and district education officer of the district within three weeks.
