How 1 illegal pistol led to arms bust in Bhopal

Bhopal: After a criminal was caught with an illegal pistol a week ago, eight accused, including the kingpin, traffickers and buyers were held for allegedly supplying illegal country-made pistols and firearms from Sikligar in Barwani/Khargone to Bhopal’s underground gun market.About a week ago, the Crime Branch had caught a criminal with an illegal pistol. Based on his disclosure, the team reached the main supplier for the first time. Cops said the kingpin used to purchase country-made pistols from Sikligar for around Rs10,000 and sell them to traffickers in Bhopal for Rs 20,000. These weapons were further sold to buyers in the city for Rs25,000 to Rs30,000.Crime branch officials said a case under the Arms Act had already been registered against the kingpin five years ago. Most of the accused also have criminal records, officials added.
