House pays tributes to Ratan Tata, Prabhat Jha and Arif Aqueel
Bhopal: On the first day of the winter session, House paid homage to industrialist and philanthropist Ratan Tata, former Union ministers Natwar Singh and SM Krishna. The House also paid homage to leaders from the state who died recently including former Rajya Sabha MP Prabhat Jha, former ministers of the state Arif Aqueel, Bharat Singh and Jaipal Singh.House also paid homage to former MLAs Vijay Singh, Mahesh Prasad Mishra, Choudhary Gambhir Singh, Vaidnath Singh and Nandaram Shourie. Tribute was also paid to Baiga tribal artist who also received a Padma Shri award Jodhaiya Bai who passed away on Sunday.Chief minister Mohan Yadav said that Ratan Tata was known for his simplicity and affability. He said Ratan Tata never compromised on principles and integrity. "Not only was he a renowned industrialist but also a social worker and a patriot who served humanity," the chief minister said.LOP Umang Singhar said that former chief minister Kamal Nath knew Ratan Tata closely. The former chief minister was present in the House at the time. "Ratan Tata gave a new direction to corporate social responsibility and set an example on how an industrialist can serve society and the country by establishing trusts to help the weak," Singhar said. The LOP recalled that when Tata Nano project could not take-off in West Bengal because of the Singhur land dispute with chief minister Mamata Banerjee, then Ratan Tata did not end the venture. He took Nano's manufacturing unit to Gujarat.Remembering Prabhat Jha, chief minister Yadav said that the former state BJP president was a part of the party organization, a journalist and renowned writer.LOP Singhar paid homage to former minister for minority affairs Arif Aqueel and recalled how he spent his entire life wearing rubber slippers while serving the people without any discrimination.The House also paid tributes to the soldiers who were martyred in a road accident in Sikkim. LOP Singhar mentioned the demise of Sant Siyaram Baba who died recently at the age of 103 years. House observed two-minutes silence as a mark of respect to departed souls.Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar adjourned the House for ten minutes as a mark of respect for the deceased souls..
