House pays tributes to Ajit Pawar, Kalmadi

Bhopal: The House on Tuesday paid homage to former Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, who died in a plane crash on Jan 28, former Union ministers Suresh Kalmadi and Kanhu Charan Lenka, along with martyred jawan Sunil Kumar of Bhind, who was part of the security force posted on the border with Tibet on Dec 31, and havildar Shaiolendra Singh Bhadoria, also from Bhind, who was killed in action in Doda in Jammu on Jan 22.Addressing the House, CM Mohan Yadav said, "Ajit Pawar was also personally known to me. He was a very different kind of person. He was with our party and was also in the govt as deputy chief minister. He had a unique commitment to development, to farmers, and for many other reasons. He worked tirelessly for the service of all people and classes with great humility.""On Jan 28, he was killed in the tragic accident while landing at Baramati Airport. Ajit Pawar ji's demise is very sad. Along with him, the security guard, pilot, co-pilot, and crew members also passed away, including our state's Shambhavi Pathak, a resident of the Gwalior district. I, along with the House, offer condolences to Ajit Pawar and all his colleagues who were victims of this tragic incident."The CM said that former Union minister Suresh Kalmadi held many different responsibilities within the Congress. "We also saw him at the Olympic Association, and his attitude towards athletes was particularly distinctive," Yadav said.LOP Umang Singhar paid homage to the victims of the Bhagirathpura water contamination. The House observed silence for 2 minutes as a mark of respect for the deceased souls.
