HC suspends sentence of person convicted for mom’s murder

Bhopal/Jabalpur: A division bench of MP high court suspended the remaining sentence of a person convicted on the charge of murdering his mother and ordered his release on bail.A sessions court in Anuppur district had sentenced him to life imprisonment for the murder of his mother. The sessions court based its judgement on the prosecution claim that hair of the accused were found in the hand of the deceased. "The appellant's hair sample was taken by the doctor in the presence of policeman Ranjeet Singh, who did not enter the witness box to support the same. Thus, it is highly doubtful as to whether any such seizure was made. Anil Singh Paraste (prosecution witness/15) has pleaded ignorance about contents of material, which were handed over to him in the sealed packet," said the division bench of Justice Sujoy Paul and Justice A K Paliwal while allowing the petition of the convict in the case Sudama Singh Rathore.tnn
