Bhopal/Jabalpur: A single-judge bench of MP high court has issued notices to the chief secretary, principal secretary, home and DGP, police seeking their response to a petition seeking a probe by the CBI or STF into "suspected" death of two brothers in a

Rewa

village on the day of Raksha Bandhan.
Mangava police station, which initially probed the deaths, closed the case saying it was an accident. The petitioner, Ritesh

Kumar Sen

, said that his brother

Jai Prakash Sen

and cousin

Mohit Sen

had been to village Kanti to celebrate Raksha Bandhan. They left to come back home but didn't return. Next day, their bodies were recovered from beneath the Amwa bridge.
There were several wounds on their bodies. They had expressed suspicion that Shivam Tiwari, who had an enmity with the deceased and who had threatened to kill them could be behind their death. But, the police closed the case saying that it was a case of an accident. They had held protests in Rewa and also lodged a complaint with the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) but there was no action on the part of administration or SHRC. tnn
