Bhopal/Jabalpur: The state government in a status report on compliance of the court's directive to remove illegally built religious places at public places presented before a division bench of MP high court on Monday said that the drive to remove the illegally built religious places was stopped due to Covid pandemic and it would be resumed soon.
The court had taken up the issue of illegal building of religious places at public places as a suo motu petition on the directive of SC in 2018 while Satish Verma, a resident of Jabalpur, had filed a contempt petition in 2014 against the government for non-compliance of court's earlier directive to remove religious places built illegally at public places. tnn
