Bhopal/Jabalpur: A division bench of MP high court on Friday disposed of a suo motu petition over non-construction of
anganwadi building on the land donated by a tribal farmer in Barwani district for the purpose after the court was informed that the anganwadi building has been constructed on the piece of land in question.
Taking cognizance of a TOI report on non-construction of anganwadi centre in village Kalalada in Barwani district despite a farmer Lal Singh Dabar donating his land for the purpose two-and a -half years ago, the chief justice had taken up the issue as a PIL.
The bench headed by the chief justice had issued notices on March 28, 2023, to the chief secretary, collector Barwani and CEO, district panchayat Barwani, seeking a response.
In its reply, the state govt assured the court that the anganwadi building would be ready by Dec 31. In the hearing of the case on Friday, counsel for the state government informed the court that the anganwadi building is ready. He also explained to the court about the arrangements made in the anganwadi centre. Following this, the bench of chief justice Ravi Malimath and Justice Vishal Mishra disposed of the petition. tnn
