Bhopal: A hawker allegedly attacked an auto-rickshaw driver with a knife at an auto stand in Teela Jamalpura, leaving him seriously injured in the hand. The attack followed an argument over removing an auto parked at the stand.
According to police, the complainant, Naimullah, 26, a resident near Indra Nagar Market, works as a passenger auto driver. On Thursday afternoon, he was waiting for passengers with his auto at the Indra Nagar auto stand when a man named Shannu arrived and asked him to remove the auto. Shannu allegedly told him that he wanted to set up a shop at the spot. Naimullah replied that it was an auto stand and not a place for setting up shops, which led to a heated argument.
The dispute soon escalated, and Shannu began abusing him.

Shannu allegedly pulled out a knife and attempted to stab Naimullah in the neck. Hearing the commotion, bystanders intervened, after which the accused fled the spot while issuing threats.
