Bhopal: Four miscreants on 2 two-wheelers arrived at a 30-year-old man's house in Aishbagh on Monday night and fired shots in the air before stealing his scooter.
The incident stemmed from a minor altercation that took place a week earlier at a tea stall. Investigation officer ASI Wasim Raja Khan said complainant Shariq, also known as Guraj, a resident of Aishbagh's Pushpa Nagar, works as an AC mechanic, and a listed criminal at Aishbagh police station.
He was involved in a confrontation with Danish alias Anda a week earlier. Shariq said on October 10 around 1:15 am, he was standing with his friend near a hotel in Bajaria when Danish knocked over his bike. When Shariq protested, Danish became aggressive, prompting Shariq and his friend to leave the scene. The next day, Danish called Shariq to apologise and assured him that the issue would not escalate further.
ASI Khan said on Monday night around 1:00 am, Danish along with his accomplices Arbaaz Chirata, Aman Notival, and Afsan arrived at Shariq's house armed with pistols and knives.
Fearing violence, Shariq and his friends Arserman and Aman retreated inside the house and locked the door. The miscreants entered Shariq's courtyard, hurling abuse and kicking the door. They also threw chairs and utensils around in frustration.
When Shariq and his friends did not come out, the attackers fired three warning shots into the air and stole Shariq's scooter before fleeing.
After the attackers left, the incident was reported to police, who have now registered a case and launched a search to nab them. Danish and two of his accomplices have previous crime records.
