'Gouges out her eyes': Man attacks wife over infidelity suspicion in Madhya Pradesh

BHOPAL: Suspecting his 24-year-old wife of infidelity, a man in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district brutally attacked by her husband, who gouged out both of her eyes with a knife and inflicted multiple injuries, including on her private parts.

The incident took place in the Pohri area on Wednesday, where the victim remains in critical condition.

The accused, identified as Chhotu Khan, demanded his wife's mobile phone, and when she refused, he attacked her with a knife.

The couple had been married for three years and frequently argued, according to sources. After committing the assault, the husband fled the scene.

Neighbours alerted the victim’s family, and she was rushed to the district hospital, covered in blood. The police were also informed of the crime.

Authorities are currently recording statements from the victim and her family. A manhunt has been launched to track down the absconding husband, and police have assured that he will be arrested soon.
