Girl molested, her brother assaulted in Ashoka Garden

Bhopal: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly stalked and molested while her brother was assaulted by her neighbour in Ashoka Garden locality. Around two days back, when the accused assaulted the survivor's brother, the girl narrated the incident at her home and approached Ashoka Garden police station on Tuesday to lodge a complaint. Police said that the survivor, 17, a resident of Ashoka Garden, left school after class 10. In her complaint to police, the girl stated that the accused Farhan, 20, who resides close to her home, had been stalking her for the past few days. Around a fortnight ago, when she was going to a grocery shop, located close to Farhan's home, he waylaid her and pressurised her to marry him. Police said that when she protested, he allegedly molested her and left the spot threatening with dire consequences. The girl further alleged that she ignored his acts but around two days ago, when Farhan entered into a fight with her brother, she somehow gathered courage and narrated the incident to her parents. Acting on her complaint, a molestation case under relevant sections of IPC and POCSO Act was registered against the accused at Ashoka garden police station on Tuesday and further investigations are underway.
