Girl, 14, killed as electric pole falls during repair

Bhopal: A 14-year-old girl died after an electric pole collapsed on her during repair work in Gwalior's Old Cantonment area on Wednesday afternoon.The incident took place in Pathan Mohalla, where the victim, identified as Razia, was standing outside her house when the accident occurred. According to police and family members, a neighbour had climbed the pole using a ladder to repair a light fixture.Razia's uncle told police he had warned the neighbour not to cut a particular wire, explaining that it was supporting the pole.Despite the warning, the neighbour allegedly severed the anchor wire, causing the pole to collapse instantly. Razia was struck by the falling pole and suffered critical injuries.
