Lok Sabha elections 2019: BJP leader Babulal Gaur’s friendly advice to Digvijaya Singh, stay away from Bhopal seat
Bhopal: BJP veteran Babulal Gaur who is seeking Lok Sabha ticket from Bhopal seat has dared his Congress friend and former chief minister Digvijaya Singh for an electoral bout. He cautioned Digvijaya not to be swayed-in by the challenge thrown by chief minister Kamal Nath stating “winning the saffron bastion is not a cakewalk for Congress.”
Gaur's reaction came after Digvijaya Singh accepted chief minister Kamal Nath's advice to contest Lok Sabha poll from a tough seat, probably Bhopal.
"I challenge Digvijaya Singh to contest Lok Sabha election from Bhopal. BJP is ready for an electoral bout with him. If Congress believes that Bhopal would be a cakewalk for Digvijaya, my advice to my friend is keep yourself aloof. For him, Bhopal would be a hard nut to crack", Gaur told TOI.
The BJP veteran who achieved a record-smashing feat with 10 victories on the trot from Govindpura assembly seat in Bhopal, also ruled out that he would be the main contender for BJP ticket. His close friendship with Digvijaya Singh is also a known fact and when Gaur recently stated that he has been offered a Congress ticket for Lok Sabha from Bhopal by Digvijaya Singh, it left the state BJP leaders shell-shocked.
Though, Gaur later withdrew his statement and vowed to remain with the saffron party, he didn't give up his stake for a Lok Sabha ticket from Bhopal.
