Jabalpur: Former Bishop P C Singh, who was arrested by the
Madhya Pradesh Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) from Mangalore earlier this week, has now been formally remanded to judicial custody and sent to jail in connection with a
financial fraud investigation.Singh, accused of orchestrating a multi-crore rupee scam involving
forgery and embezzlement, faces a total of 64 criminal cases filed across several states — including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Punjab, and Haryana. He is also under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for suspected money laundering.Authorities say the former bishop misused funds intended for educational and charitable institutions under his control, funneling the money into personal accounts and shell entities. The EOW has indicated that further charges may be filed as the investigation continues to uncover additional financial irregularities.Officials confirmed that Singh was produced before a special court in Jabalpur, which ordered his transfer to judicial custody pending further hearings. Sources close to the case say that the EOW is preparing to file a supplementary charge sheet and may seek custody again for further interrogation regarding funds diverted through international channels.
