Five days after Sagar shootout, one arrested
Bhopal: Five days after a sensational shootout took place at the SDM court in Sagar, police arrested one suspect on Saturday. At least seven of his accomplices, including all the prime accused, are still on the run.
On August 5, two youths fired six shots from point blank range at Golu Dabade, a history sheeter of Sagar, which resulted in his instant death. According to sources, the accused had announced plans to kill Dabade on social media 15 days in advance.
The accused, who were around eight in number, had reached the SDM office premises in a car. After the murder, they abandoned the car there and fled in an SUV.
The incident was recorded on the CCTV camera at the SDM office. Six of them were identified with the help of the footage and were booked under Section 302 of the IPC (murder).
Police said deceased Golu Dabade had appeared for a hearing related to his externment. Action under National Security Act (NSA) was also pending against him. But as his wife had delivered a baby, the police had postponed both the actions humanitarian ground, police said. Instead, he was asked to be register his presence every day in police station till January next year.
Police sources said that a group of youths — identified as Nikhil Yadav, Bhanu Yadav and others — had announced on social media that Dabade would be eliminated on August 5. They killed Dabade for his alleged involvement in a murder that took place almost two years back in Sagar when one Ratnesh Yadav alias Rattoo was allegedly shot dead by a group of people over his involvement in illicit liquor business in Sagar.
On Saturday, police arrested Gudde Yadav, one of eight involved, and recovered a country-made pistol from him. Superintended of police Amit Sanghi said, “Investigations are on and the remaining accused will also be arrested soon.”
