Ex-society chief booked for fraud

Bhopal: A court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) has registered an FIR against the former president of Kaveri Housing Cooperative Society for allegedly committing fraud with members of the society. He assured them of flats in a multi-storied building but later turned it into a hotel. The court of JMFC, Hemlata Ahirwar, registered a case against Khalid Khan under relevant sections of the IPC, and issued summons to the accused for presence in the court at the next hearing of the case on November 17, 2025.Appearing for the plaintiff, Syed Sarvar Husan, who presented a private complaint in the court against Khalid Khan, Advocate Santosh Verma said his client is a member of the Kaveri Housing Cooperative Society. The society had a piece of land at Halalpur, Lalghati. Khalid constructed a multi-storied building on the land and collected lakhs of rupees from members of the society, assuring them of a flat in the building. Khalid allotted flat 4 (C) to the plaintiff against payment of Rs 2,35,000, got it registered in his name, and gave its possession to him. However, in 2008, he sold the building and now runs a hotel from the same building.After the initial hearing, the court registered a case of fraud against Khalid and issued a summons for his presence in court at the next hearing.
