Bhopal: An elderly woman was duped of property worth Rs 9 crore by her adopted daughter's husband. A case of forgery was registered at MP Nagar police station against the accused on Tuesday. Main accused Sanjay Mantri and six others are yet to be arrested. Usha Maheshwari, 71, a resident of E-4 Arera Colony, is a complainant.

As a relative of elderly woman, Sanjay Mantri looked after her shops in a complex at MP Nagar. He misled the woman and took her signature on a contract at the registrar's office and later sold shops to six other people for Rs 9 crore.

Police said apart from Sanjay Mantri, witnesses and shop buyers Rohit Jain, Raj Laxmi Pandit, Sandeep Khare, Muhammad Zaheer, Daya Shankar and Shivendra Pratap have also been made accused.
