Elderly man held for rape of minor in Balaghat

Jabalpur: A 64-year-old man was arrested by police in Balaghat district in connection with alledged rape of a minor girl. The elderly man had allegedly raped the 13-year-old girl by luring her with a Rs 50 banknote. A court has sent him to jail.
According to police, Lok Chandra Geda (64), who lived away from his family, resided near the house of a woman and her minor daughter.
On Tuesday, while the mother was at work, the elderly man allegedly lured the girl to his house with a fifty-rupee note and sexually assaulted her.
Upon questioning, the girl revealed the incident. The mother immediately reported the crime to the Hata police station.
Following the complaint, the accused man went into hiding at his relative's house in Kharkhedi village under the Khairlanji police station. Police conducted a raid on the relative's house and apprehended the accused.
