E-tender scam: 50 more bids under scanner

BHOPAL

:

Madhya Pradesh

state economic offences wing (

EOW

), probing the Rs 3,000 crore e-tender scam, has identified 50 more tenders in which software was allegedly tampered with. Most of them are said to be of public works department.

Investigators are trying to connect the dots between tender opening authorities (TOAs) and a section of bureaucrats allegedly involved in the scam, said sources. EOW is preparing a list of TOAs for further investigation.

Companies that were awarded these tenders have received their payments, unlike nine tenders that were cancelled immediately after detection of breach in software of Madhya Pradesh state electronic development corporation (MPSEDC).

After the FIR into the Rs 3,000-crore e-tendering case, EOW has arrested Vinay Choudhary, Varun Chaturvedi and Sunil Golwalkar of Osmo IT Solutions and an OSD of MPSEDC, Nand Kishore Bramhe. On Monday, a district court extended their police remand till May 6. EOW officials say they have got significant clues against the accused and enough evidence to file a chargesheet. Online addresses of the systems that were allegedly used to breach the e-tendering software of Madhya Pradesh State Electronic Development Corporation (MPSEDC) were traced to the desktop and mobile phones of Osmo and its directors, say officials.
