Diggy’s ‘word of advice’ for his brother
Bhopal: Former chief minister Digvijaya Singh has a word of advice for his younger brother and Congress MLA Laxman Singh. Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, the Congress veteran said that his brother should speak directly about party affairs to chief minister Kamal Nath instead of issuing statements in the public and media.
On Tuesday, Laxman Singh created a controversy while addressing the media in Guna. He said, “I have a message for chief minister Kamal Nath. Aap majboot mukhya mantri bann kar kaam kariye, majboor mukhya mantri bann kar nahi (You should work as a strong chief minister and not weak).”
In a scathing attack on his party’s government in the state, Laxman Singh, the MLA from Chachoura assembly seat further said, “So far, the effort has been to save the government. Now, the CM should start running the government and ensure that it functions. No work is being done at the ground level.”
Addressing reporters on Thursday, Digvijaya said, “Laxman is an experienced political leader. He is also close to Kamal Nath. Whatever is his concern, he should speak directly to the chief minister. Issuing statements in the public is not the right thing to do.”
This is not the first time that Laxman Singh has been in the news for attacking his party leaders. In September, he alleged that Rahul Gandhi should apologize to farmers in Madhya Pradesh for incomplete implementation of the farm loan waiver scheme promised in the Congress manifesto of 2018.
