Delhi Public School hosts inter-music fest

BHOPAL: Delhi Public School (DPS), Bhopal, hosted Inter-DPS Vocal Music Festival (Open) 2012 on Friday. Ten schools from all over India participated in the event, which was held in the Opera House, Twitter Zone, DPS campus. The chief guest was Ullhas Telang, former director of Ustad Allaudin Khan Sangeet and Art Academy, Bhopal. Sanjeev Sachdeva, Harish Verma and Harpreet Singh Khurana renowned musicians were the judges for the competition. Abhishek Mohan Gupta (director marketing and strategic planning and Nitin Ambaselkar (CAO DPS Bhopal-Indore) were also present. Ajay K Sharma (Principal DPS, Bhopal) welcomed the guests and participants. Students of DPS Bhopal performed a welcome dance. The trophy for the 'best overall performance' was bagged by DPS Indore and DPS Bhopal was declared first runner-up. DPS Nagpur was declared second runner-up.

Sagar Public School: Sagar Public School, Saket Nagar, would organise the Inter City Curo Quiz on August 25 on the school premises at 10 am. Sixty-six teams of thirty three schools on Bhopal, Indore and Vidisha would be participating. Winner of the quiz would be given cash prize of Rs 50,000. Also a running trophy would be awarded to the overall winner of the Curo Quiz. It would be conducted by Ambesh Tiwari, recipient of Young India Fellowship, New Delhi. The six finalists of the quiz would be selected through a screening test based on the multiple choice questions. The winners would be evaluated on the basis of the performance in the final quiz.
Bal Bhavan School, Shyamla Hills: The investiture ceremony of the newly-elected cabinet of Bal Bhavan School was held on August 16. The ceremony began with the rendering of the oath to the appointed prefects by principal H L Chopra. Syed Sameer Ali and Aneesha Rawat have been elected as the head boy and head girl of the school, respectively. Akshat Jain and Nishi Jain are the deputy heads. Mohd Zaid Khan, Eti Sharma, Shubhi Goyal and Ayesha Khan have been given the responsibility of sports. Aakansha Jain, Saman Anwar, Vanya Singh and Yash Agarwal have been appointed the cultural prefects. Pratham NAik, Saba Rehman, Gaurav Sahu and Aagosh Mishra have been given the charge of discipline while Shivani Gaur, Ayushi MAlpani, Rakshan Farooqui, Umang Tiwary, Isra Ayesha Khan, Satyendra Prajapati, Amit Singh Dangi and Nooreen Fatima have been appointed as Akbar, Ashoka, Vikram and Siddharth house captains and vice captains respectively. The school secretary Omar F Ali was the chief guest of the occasion
Army Public School: Manya Raj has been appointed as the head girl while Pankaj Singh Bohra as the head boy of Army Public School. The investiture ceremony was held on August 22 .The oath of office was administered by the chairman of the school Brig P S Rana. It was followed by a cultural programme consisting of two motivational songs presented by school band Pulsating Rhythm and a contemporary dance. The chief guest for the occasion was Lt Gen S H Kulkarni commander 21 Corps. He was accompanied by his wife Praveena Kulkarni .The chief guest inaugurated the English language lab and the smart class. Principal Seema Dwivedi congratulated all the 58 students appointed as members of school and house cabinet.
