Bhopal: A local court awarded a compensation amount of Rs 53.87 lakh to the family of a deputy superintendent, who was killed when a rashly driven SUV hit his bike from behind near toll tax barrier while coming from Vidisha to Bhopal. The court ordered the driver, owner and the insurance company with which the SUV is insured to pay the amount to the family of the deceased.
According to advocate Sunny Hingorani, the deceased Jagdish Soni was coming to Bhopal from Vidisha on his bike on March 24, 2018, with his wife for her treatment. At around 1.00 pm, a rashly driven SUV hit his bike from behind near the toll tax barrier. He was killed on the spot. Advocates R K Hingorani and Sunny Hingorani had filed the compensation suit on behalf of the deceased BSNL deputy superintendent. Following hearing in the case, additional district & sessions judge Suresh Kumar Suryavanshi awarded a compensation of Rs 53 lakh 87 thousand & 152 to the Soni's family under the provisions of Motor Vehicle Act. tnn
