BHOPAL: Days after BJP MLA from Indore

was caught on camera assaulting a municipal officer with a cricket bat, the son of a BJP corporator in
Damoh
was booked and arrested for threatening municipality staff with a cricket bat.
Vivek Agrawal, who is also the district vice-president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), was booked under Section 151 of the CrPC and was produced before the court. The court send him to jail.
Vivek was also booked under section 186 of the IPC (whoever voluntarily obstructs any public servant in the discharge of his public functions) and 506 of the IPC (abuse).
Vivek’s mother Usha Agrawal, a BJP corporator, was also served notice for her son’s act.
Vivek had claimed that he was a representative of her corporator mother and was visiting municipality office with a bat to get her works done.
The notice from the district collector to Usha Agrawal said that Vivek had introduced himself as her representative while carrying a bat in municipality office and terrorising an accountant.
“As your representative, you should have full control over him and his acts should have been in consonance with the interests of the municipal council,” the notice read.
Vivek's mother has been asked to explain her position in 15 days.
On Saturday, chief municipal officer Kapil Khare had lodged an FIR in this regard after being instructed by the district collector.
Vivek claimed that he started emulating him Akash Vijayvargiya after the video of his assault went viral on social media platforms.
