Cyber crime branch flags new salary-related scam

Bhopal: The Cyber Crime Branch of the Bhopal Police Commissionerate on Monday issued an advisory warning govt employees and pensioners about a new wave of online fraud.According to police officials, cyber criminals are targeting individuals by sending links and APK files through WhatsApp, SMS, and email. These messages falsely claim to provide access to an "8th Pay Commission Salary Calculator" or details regarding revised salaries.Police cautioned that installing such APK files or clicking on unknown links may grant unauthorised access to mobile phones and linked bank accounts.
