Court frames forgery charges against Thete

BHOPAL: Special Court on Thursday framed charges of cheating and forgery against IAS officer Ramesh Thete for obtaining loan from State Bank of India (SBI), Vallabh Bhawan branch through fraudulent means. Special Police Establishment (SPE) of Lokayukta had received information that Thete had amassed assets disproportionate to his known source of income.Loan issue surfaced during investigation, sources said.
It was found that Thete allegedly had availed loan from SBI Vallabh Bhavan Branch on November 23, 2001 by misusing his position as public servant and submitting false declarations besides concealing overdue loans in other banks.
