Court directs exhumation in death probe

Bhopal/Jabalpur: Acting on the direction of a division bench of the Madhya Pradesh high court, the body of a man who died under unnatural circumstances in March 2025 was exhumed in Jabalpur on Wednesday and sent for post-mortem examination. The exercise was carried out at the burial ground in the presence of the deceased's brother, wife and son, as per the court's instructions.The case stems from a petition filed by the brother of the deceased, who alleged that despite signs of serious injuries, no FIR was registered and only a preliminary inquiry was conducted by local police.
