BHOPAL: Special investigation team (SIT) of Gwalior police has declared a cash award of Rs 3,000 each on five medical students including Vishal Verma, a prime suspect in MPPEB scam, who has also been linked to medical student Namrata Damor death case.
All five students have been accused of clearing PMT 2009 through unfair means. Besides Verma, others include Ajitesh Yadav, Sachin Yadav, Mohammad Azhar and Pankaj Singh Tomar.

MPPEB scam kingpin Deepak Yadav, who was arrested a month ago, had revealed he had collected Rs 5 lakh each for selection of his relatives - Rishab (2005) and Jayant Yadav (2009). Rishab surrendered in court on Monday.Parents of a medical student from Indore, Namrata Damor, whose body was found on railway tracks near Ujjain two years ago suspect role of Vishal Verma in her 'murder'. Damor, 25, was found dead near the railway tracks on January 7, 2012, a week after she was reported mysteriously missing from college hostel.
Namrata is in the list of suspects who cleared PMT-2010 using unfair means while Verma is in the list of students who were impersonated by others during PMT-2009. This has lent credence to claim of Namrata's kin.MPPPEB cancelled her admission two years after her mysterious death. Verma was let off by Ujjain police after interrogation in Namrata Damor case but is now wanted by the Gwalior police in connection with rigging PMT-2009 case.
He was among four youths who were subjected to a DNA test to match semen samples collected from Namrata's clothes during autopsy. His sample matched, said sources. Call records of Namrata's phone also revealed there were several calls minutes before she died from the number being used by Verma.
A team of three doctors who conducted autopsy on her said she was smothered to death and found semen on her clothes. Director of state medico legal institute Dr D S Badkur contradicted their finding claiming she committed suicide by jumping off the train. Sample of semen collected from Namrata's clothes also matched with Vishal Verma's samples.
