Cop booked on rape charge, suspended

BHOPAL: A police constable was booked and suspended on charges of rape in Damoh district.
Senior officials said town inspector posted at Hata police station was taken off the active duty and shifted to police line after the survivor alleged that he didn't take action even after the matter the reported to him.
The incident took place In Hata police station of the district on Tuesday.Police said a 20-year-old alleged that constable Pradip, who is posted at the Hata police station, raped her promising to marry her.
SP A K Pandey said, "A case has been registered and the constable was suspended on the day when the woman complained. We have shifted the town inspector and initiated probe after the woman accused that her complaint was not registered at first."
