Convocation of Somali president in Bhopal

BHOPAL: Barkatullah University (BU) conferred an M. Tech degree and honorary degree upon Somalia's president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in a special ceremony organised on the university campus some time ago. BU had organised its annual convocation on September 18.
President Mohamud had recently written a letter to the Indian government, seeking help in getting his degree certificate from the university.
Deliberations were on for holding special convocation for the Somalian President as the university had already held its annual convocation.
BU vice-chancellor Professor MD Tiwari said it was an honour for the university to hold a special convocation for its privileged alumnus who had pursued an M. Tech degree from the university around 27 years ago.
The special convocation was organised at the university's Gyan Vigyan Bhawan. President Hassan Sheikh had completed his degree course in 1987-88.
