Convention centre in Bhopal for future summits: CM

Bhopal: Following conclusion of Global Investors' Summit- 25 on Tuesday, CM Mohan Yadav said that the state govt would consider building a convention centre in Bhopal where such mega events could be held. Six out of 7 previous global investors' summit in MP have taken place in Indore except one organised in Khajuraho and in Indore, it's usually organised in an international convention centre but since Bhopal doesn't have a huge convention centre like that, the GIS-25 was organised at the Museum of Man.Referring to Bhopal's enhanced beauty and cleanliness due to preparations for GIS-25, Yadav said that his govt would see to it that it is maintained and allocate more funds to beautify the city further.Replying to a suggestion that GIS should be held in Indore, Yadav said that all the regions of the state have enormous potential to attract investment and he had organised Regional Industry Conclaves (RICs) in all the regions to tap that potential and positive response to TICs gave him the idea to organise GIS and at a place other than Indore so that there is uniformity in investment proposals received for different regions. He referred to several projects received for Chambal, Vindhya and Bundelkhand region at GIS-25 in this context.On poor air connectivity in the state, he said that the new aviation policy offers incentives to flights per seat and in the event of an international flight taking off from the state, an incensive of Rs 10 lakh would be offered.
