Key Cong meet ends with renewed zeal to strengthen party in state

Bhopal: The two-day state Congress working committee meeting ended on Friday with a call to "work together at the ground level with full aggression" to strengthen the party in the state and give the people justice from "terrible problems" being faced by them under the BJP govt for the past 20 years.
The party released a list of in-charges and co-in-charges of the organisational districts. Many sitting MLAs and former ministers were given organisational responsibility to strengthen the party in the districts. Former minister Sachin Yadav was appointed in-charge of Sagar (city), and Jaivardhan Singh was made in-charge of Mandsaur district. Party MLA Anubha Munjare was made in-charge of Umaria district, and Lakhan Singh Ganghoria is in-charge of Balaghat.
Sitting MLA Rajneesh Singh was made in-charge of Jabalpur city, while former MLA and state PCC secretary Lakshman Singh will be co-in-charge. The party distributed responsibilities to the newly appointed vice-presidents, general secretaries, and secretaries to strengthen the party at the grassroots. At the meeting, AICC general secretary in-charge of MP affairs, Bhanwar Jitendra Singh, said all office-bearers' work will be reviewed every two months.
Former MLA from Tendukhera and party general secretary Sanjay Sharma was made accountable for the party in Rewa town and rural areas. He will have four co-in-charges (two secretaries, Neeraj Dixit and Ajay Awasthi, and two joint secretaries, Anees Khan and Vijay Kol) to help him with the job.
Friday's meeting of working committee members was attended by state party vice-presidents, general secretaries, secretaries, and joint secretaries and convened by Jitendra Singh and PCC chief Jitu Patwari.
Discussions were held on the creation of ward committees and mohalla committees to increase people's contact in urban areas. Jitendra Singh said there was a need for a strong organisational structure at the ground level.
"For organisational strength, work with positivity down to the booth level," Jitendra Singh said. "A mohalla committee for every 30 to 40 houses will be formed in which booth committee members will be included. The organisation will be run with full discipline. Discharge your duties with full responsibility," he told the working committee members.
Patwari, in his address, said the party was going through a phase of struggle. "I am also like all of you; I expect full cooperation to fulfil the responsibility given to me by the AICC. All of us need to work together. We will sit with all our senior leaders and decide to work with full vigour for strengthening the organisation," he said.
Patwari said the district in-charges should work for strengthening the party by coordinating with Congress workers from booth to district level. A session of the MP Congress committee will be called in February-March next year.
The Congress president said, "The BJP govt has been in power in the state for 20 years. On one hand, the public is angry with corruption, injustice to farmers, offences against women, messing with the future of youth, atrocities on Dalits and tribals. On the other hand, the people of the state are upset with inflation and unemployment. We all need to work together at the ground level with full aggression to get justice to the people from these terrible problems."
The working committee also unanimously passed five resolutions with the target of strengthening the Congress' organisation in the state. These include strengthening the organisation at the gram panchayat, ward panchayat, and booth level
Besides, the party decided to gherao the state assembly during the next assembly session.
