Cong marches to file FIR against Sarang, demands his removal

Bhopal: Continuing its attack on the govt for the alleged nursing colleges scam, state Congress top brass led by former CM Digvijaya Singh, PCC chief Jitu Patwari and LOP Umang Singhar marched through Narela, the constituency of Vishwas Sarang, who was formerly the medical education minister, on Thursday.
However, the Congress march, which started with a demand to file an FIR against Sarang, ended with an additional demand to register an FIR against cops for holding a religious programme within the police station premises.
When Congress workers marched to the Ashoka Garden police station to register an FIR against Sarang, a large police contingent stopped them from entering the police station premises. The Congress then decided to sit in front of the police station.
When senior Congress netas reached outside the police station demanding registration of an FIR, the events took a surprising turn. At the police station, men in uniform were busy in a Sundarkand recital which was being hosted within the premises.
Digvijaya Singh took exception to the Sundarkand recital in the police station. He criticised TI of Ashoka Garden police station Hemant Shrivastava. Singh said that recital of Sundarkand within the police station premises was illegal and action should be initiated against Shrivastava and those involved.
“Action should be taken against those involved. Did they take permission for this from the police station? Is it not their duty to know who is organising this? First, action should be taken against the police station TI who is permitting the Sundarkand recital in the police station compound,” Singh said.
State BJP reacted strongly to Singh’s objection to Sundarkand recital in the police station. BJP media cell chief Ashish Agarwal took to X and said that Singh is an “expert in anti-national and anti-Sanatan activities” for vote bank politics. “He has again insulted Hindus by maintaining his tradition of appeasement,” Agarwal said.
He added, “Tell us Digvijaya Singh, yesterday on the occasion of Muharram, Palestinian flags were hoisted in many places, why did you not utter a word on that. Why did not object when Owaisi shouted Hail Palestine during the oath taking ceremony in Parliament? Terrorists are found hiding in Madrasas every other day, why doesn’t Digvijaya Singh think it is illegal? ”
Amid the chaos at the police station, women BJP workers from Narela constituency also reached the scene and raised slogans against the Congress. Police intervened and brought the situation under control.
Speaking to media, Singhar said, “All appointments of registrars were made by Vishwas Sarang, and those appointed lacked the required eligibility. Sarang should be removed from the cabinet and the govt must register an FIR against him. Whenever we go to ask for registration of FIR, Sarang sends women from his constituency to raise slogans at the police station,” Singhar said. “But we will fight this war from the streets to the courts. In the next four days, we will reveal another scam executed by Sarang. He should be ready for that,” he added.
Four lakh students have been affected by the nursing colleges scam, he said, adding: “If Congress does not fight for these students, then who will? When Vishwas Sarang changed the rules to give recognition to disqualified nursing colleges, then why should there not be an FIR registered against him?
