College student stabbed to death in Ujjain

Ujjain: A college student allegedly died after being stabbed by her husband after a dispute between a couple in Ujjain on Wednesday evening. The deceased girl was identified as Puja Sharma, a resident of Badnagar, was stabbed to death by a man, the police said.
The accused, identified as Shyam Khatik, a resident of Dani Gate area of Ujjain, is a notorious criminal of the area, and had a dispute with his wife Nidhi Khatik.
The deceased’s mother was a friend of his wife, and the accused used to doubt the mother for making his wife leave him and give divorce. He had also given the girl’s mother threats of dire consequences, following which she had filed a complaint against him, Jiwajiganj CSP AR Negi said.
On Wednesday evening, the accused’s wife and the girl were going on a scooter when the accused hit the scooter with his motorcycle at Indira Nagar area, causing both of them to fall. He then stabbed the girl. tnn
