Jabalpur: A clerk posted at the office of the sub-registrar co-operatives and societies was caught while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 on Sunday.
Accused clerk Rakesh Shukla had demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from Laxman Rai, a resident of Jabalpur who had a dispute with a co-operative society. Shukla had asked for the bribe for providing copy of an order given by sub-registrar co-operatives and societies in connection with Rai’s dispute.

A plot of land was allotted to Rai by a housing society but its president cancelled his membership. Subsequently, Rai moved a petition in the court of sub-registrar co-operatives and societies, Jabalpur.
He was trying to get copy of the orders in this case when accused Shukla asked for the bribe.
Rai complained to the Lokayukta and the cops arrested Shukla on Sunday.
