CM sees Mercabarna model as key to state’s agri exports

Bhopal: CM Mohan Yadav on Friday said the integrated food logistics model of Mercabarna in Barcelona could play a transformative role in strengthening the state's post-harvest systems, and export capabilities. During a visit to the 250-acre facility, Europe's leading food logistics hub, he said: "The Mercabarna model can empower Madhya Pradesh to address the challenges of production, post-harvest value addition, processing, storage and access to global markets. Drawing inspiration from this model, the state's food producers can be prepared to compete globally." Mercabarna is Europe's leading food logistics hub, where systems for production, storage, processing, and distribution operate in an integrated manner. Mercabarna's CEO Pablo Villanova expressed a special interest in MP, and agreed on future bilateral knowledge-sharing partnerships, a state govt spokesperson said in a statement here.
