CM attends Mahakal Sawari among thousands of devotees

Ujjain: The third Sawari of Lord Mahakaleshwar was taken out with much fanfare on Monday. Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan accompanied by his family were among thousands of devotees, who participated in the holy event and took blessings of three forms of Lord Mahakaal – Chandramauleshwar, Manmahesh and Shivtandav.
Earlier, Chouhan, his wife Sadhana Singh and both sons Kartikeya Singh and Kunal Singh performed ‘abhishek’ at Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Mandir on the third Monday of the holy month of Shravan. During this, the CM wished for everyone's welfare, health and a happy life. Before the sawari left, Chouhan and his family members worshipped Lord Chandramauleshwar according to rituals.
When sawari reached Ramghat, the CM and his wife performed ‘abhishek’ with the holy water of Kshipra.
According to ASP Akash Bhuria, adequate security arrangements were made by deploying around 1000 cops on the sawari route and other strategic locations while around 300 volunteers of Nagar Suraksha Samiti accompanied them.
Besides, three drones were used to keep a close monitoring on every activity in the sawari.
