Just as the countdown has begun for one of the most celebrated festivals of the year, people have started indulging in the festivities. When it is about Navratri, Garba and dandiya nights top the chart. People wait all year for Garba and start its preparations a month earlier. The excitement for dressing up for the celebratory nights is at its peak amongst girls. Markets, streets and malls are brimming with outfit options for Navratri. She explains, “I am wearing my tights which I wear almost daily as these are the most comfortable. A crop top over it looks smart at the same time. To give a traditional touch to my outfit, I draped this traditionally printed dupatta around my waist, like a saree. I am fond of accessorizing, so I picked up my favourite jewellery and completed my look with it.”color: rgb(74, 73, 73); font-family: "Segoe UI", Frutiger, "Frutiger Linotype", "Dejavu Sans", "Helvetica Neue", Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.6px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);FOR THE LOVE OF SAREEScolor: rgb(74, 73, 73); font-family: "Segoe UI", Frutiger, "Frutiger Linotype", "Dejavu Sans", "Helvetica Neue", Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.6px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);Sarees are one of the most worn outfits by girls during Garba. Of course, it makes one look graceful and stand out in the crowd as people expect one to be in the regular Ghagras. For student Saumya Chaturvedi, wearing sarees was an option. But not the usual one. “I love wearing sarees and wear them quite often. During Navratri, sarees look good, but this time I thought of experimenting with my outfit. I picked a Bandhej print dupatta which is one of my favourites and draped it over jeans and a blouse. It is a half pleated saree but gives a look of both traditional and western at the same time. It is so comfortable and took me just 20 minutes to complete my look.”
