BHOPAL: CBI has registered two more FIRs in the Vyapam scam – this time against 176 people for their alleged role in fixing seats for candidates in Samvida Shala Shikshak Patrata Pareeksha Varg (Contractual School Teachers Eligibility Test) Grade II and III conducted by Vyapam in 2011.
Agency has booked 76 and 99 people in both the exams, respectively.
Governor Ram Naresh Yadav’s son Shailesh Yadav – who died under mysterious circumstances – was a suspect in one of the scams. Shailesh was accused of allegedly fixing the recruitment of 10 candidates as Grade III teachers.
Special Task Force (STF) had made over 1,000 arrests in multi-crore Vyapam scam, largely on basis of names found on excel sheet retrieved from hard disk of a key player in the scam, but was quiet about a Union minister, whose name is mentioned 17 times in the same excel sheet pertaining to recommendations for recruitments in Grade II exams. A copy of the excel sheet was submitted in district court along with the charge-sheet into contractual teachers appointment scam on September 9, 2014. STF’s investigation is based on an excel sheet retrieved from the computer of Vyapam’s principal system analyst and key accused Nitin Mohindra, which reveals names of several businessman, doctors and politicians, who worked as middlemen on deals. Mohindra would maintain a record of names of candidates and names of those (in code language) who recommended them. Besides, there are details of payment in the excel sheet.
Similarly, Union minister’s name figures alongside names of 17 candidates — Liladhar Pachauri, Veenu Sinha, Vikas Sharma, Varsha Singh Tomar, Jitendra Singh Rajput, Priyanka, Chandra Prakash, Shikha, Uday Prakash Sharma, Savita Sahu, Sunita Sahu, Pratiksha Sharma, Rani Rajput, Banti Sen, Ritu Tripathi, Rameshwar Dayal Sharma and Santosh Kumar Sharma. The Union minister’s name also figures in statements of two prime accused, mentioned in an FIR registered by STF of state police. STF had made 43 people, including former minister Laxmikant Sharma and former officer on special duty to MP Governor, Dhanraj Yadav, accused in FIR no. 7011 of December 9, 2013.
