BHOPAL: The Bhopal unit of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)’s Anti-Corruption Branch arrested two contractual employees of the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN), Mandsaur, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 1.10 lakh from a complainant on behalf of a sub-inspector of CBN, Mandsaur.

The CBI registered a case on November 29 against Sub-Inspector Abhishek Agnihotri of CBN, Mandsaur, and unknown others, based on allegations that the sub-inspector demanded an undue advantage of Rs 1.20 lakh from the complainant for issuing a licence for the cultivation of opium.

Acting on the complaint, the CBI laid a trap and apprehended two contractual employees, identified as Ram Nivas and Kanti Lal, red-handed while accepting the bribe amount of Rs 1.10 lakh on behalf of the sub-inspector.

Both contractual employees were taken into custody. The sub-inspector, Abhishek Agnihotri, was also booked in connection with the case.
